VLSI Data Transfer Peripheral Device

Data Transfer from Peripheral Device to Peripheral Device or Local Device through PCI-Bridge

PCI Bridge is used for controlling data transformation in between peripheral component bus to local bus.
Features:
  • PCI-X Bus Specification Revision 1.0a
  • Functions as one or more of:
  • Agent acting as target only
  • Agent acting as target and master
  • Arbiter
  • Generates all types of PCI/PCI-X transactions (master) and responses (target)
  • Supports memory modeling of all agent memory spaces (configuration/IO/ Memory)
  • Supports 32-bit and 64-bit transactions
  • Supports Power Management option
  • Supports Message Signaled Interrupt handling option
  • 33.33 MHz clock with synchronous transfers
  • Peak transfer rate of 133 MB/s (133 million bytes per second) for 32-bit bus width (33.33 MHz × 32 bits ÷ 8 bits/byte = 133 MB/s)
  • 32-bit address space (4 gigabytes)
  • 32-bit I/O port space
  • 256-byte configuration space
  • 5-volt sig5-volt signaling

Applications :
  • Storage (RAID cards, ROMB, MROMB, FAS, SAN, NAS)
  • Telemetric
  • Security
  • Graphics, Printing/ Imaging
  • Control Plane Processing
  • General embedded equipment
  • Telecommunication equipment
  • Adapter cards and motor boards
